President Sisi's Renewed Talk About the Displacement of Palestinians Raises Concerns

Those who closely followed the speeches of Trump and Kushner in Davos regarding their vision for the future of the Gaza Strip, along with what British, American, and Israeli newspapers have published on the subject, might connect this with what Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi spoke about yesterday concerning fears of the displacement of Gaza's Palestinians and his warning to Europe about the influx of thousands of Palestinians into its territories. It should be noted that President Sisi would not have returned to discuss the issue immediately after coming back from Davos if the topic hadn't been raised there; he might have been under American pressure and Emirati inducements to accept the displacement plan.

All of this raises concerns and confirms what we have previously written about and warned against: that the Trump-Kushner plan for displacement and the construction of a new Gaza (Rivbra) is still in place, and it will not be a Riviera for the residents of the Strip but rather for new owners and investors. Furthermore, even if Israel accepts a ceasefire, it will not stop the war entirely before achieving its and Washington's strategic objectives, primarily the destruction of Gaza and the camps in the West Bank and altering the demographic composition between the sea and the river in favor of an absolute Jewish majority.

Because this goal requires time and further pressure on the Palestinian people, as well as sustaining their suffering in Gaza and the West Bank to the extent that many residents see emigration as their only path to salvation from their suffering, it also necessitates more political efforts to overcome the remnants of international and Arab resistance to this plan. Therefore, Washington and Tel Aviv maneuver by fabricating imaginary disputes between them while continuing to amplify the threat of Hamas's weaponry, claiming it as an obstacle to rebuilding and achieving peace, despite their ongoing efforts to keep Hamas's presence in the scene in the Strip for the time being. On the other hand, they are buying time by discussing a committee to manage Gaza and hinting at the possibility of the Palestinian Authority returning to Gaza. Since all of Trump's plans concerning the Gaza Strip and the Palestinian issue contradict international legitimacy and international law, and the majority of the world's countries would not agree to them, he has worked to establish a (World Peace Council) to push through his schemes in Gaza and worldwide under the guise that this council is an "international body."

The danger in everything happening is that it unfolds within a context of official, partisan, and popular Palestinian impotence, and sometimes complicity from some, especially the leadership of Hamas, which insists that everything happening is a victory for them! Also, there is international and Arab silence, and complicity from some entities in implementing this plan, such as the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Turkey.
