Clashes between Palestinians and settlers south of Hebron and seizure of a settler's weapon

SadaNews - Clashes occurred between Palestinians and settlers near the village of Susiya in the Masafer Yatta area south of Hebron on Saturday evening, involving stone throwing and the seizure of a settler's weapon, resulting in injuries to another settler described as moderate. The Israeli army stated that the events near the village of Susiya south of Hebron were not the result of gunfire, but rather clashes and stone throwing between settlers and Palestinians. It noted that during the clashes, a weapon belonging to one of the settlers was seized, while another was injured due to being struck by stones. The army indicated that its forces "continue to pursue, implementing closures and erecting barriers in the area" in search of the Palestinian who seized the weapon. Settlers invaded the area situated between the villages of Tal and Surra southwest of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, as locals gathered to confront any new terror attack, following the martyrdom of four individuals and injuries to others due to the occupation's forces and settlers, along with the death of an Israeli officer and soldier. Since dawn on Saturday, Israeli occupation forces have undertaken a series of incursions into several cities and towns in the West Bank, coinciding with a rise in settler assaults, resulting in several injuries. The occupation has carried out a wide arrest campaign in various areas of the West Bank, detaining at least 70 citizens and interrogating hundreds. In Nablus, occupation forces arrested 30 citizens from the village of Tal, including: Nimir Khaled Hindi, Ahmad Yameen, Nizar Hindi, Mohammad Ali Ramadan, Nizar Munther Ramadan, Ezzedine Rayhan, Hussam Hindi, Muayad Hamad, Jaafar Rayhan, Mohammad Asida, Mahmoud Asida, Bilal Ishtiyeh, Muath Ishtiyeh, Malik Ishtiyeh, Yahya Al-Wadi, Mahmoud Al-Ayoub, Mohammad Al-Ayoub, Mahmoud Ramadan, Muthna Ishtiyeh, Abdul Munim Ramadan, Mahmoud Sheikh, Mashhour Hilmi Ramadan, Ridwan Ali Ramadan, Sohaib Ramadan, Asim Asida, Issam Al-Sayfi, Taher Al-Sayfi, Nasrallah Asida, Sufyan Ishtiyeh, and Mohammad Jamal Ramadan. In Ramallah, occupation forces arrested 14 citizens, including: Joudat Abdullah, Bashir Nour Al-Din, Mazen Jaber, Rabi' Hassan, Abdul Yasir, Hanood Aqlah, Bashir Qubaysi, Sami Qubaysi, Abdullah Ayman, Aboud Khalil from the town of Abwein to the north, and two young men, Jaafar Misbah Faqha and Qussam Sami Shabana from the town of Singel to the east, and the young man Abdul Rahman Abdul Basit Abu Alia from Al-Mughayer, and Waleem Al-Barghouthi from the village of Deir Abu Mishal to the north. In Bethlehem, occupation forces arrested three citizens: Mustafa Sami Hamidan from Aida refugee camp to the north, Ibrahim Mohammad Asakra from the Asakra area to the east, who is a mosque imam, and Mohammad Salem Younis Rashayda from the village of Rashayda to the east. In Tulkarm, occupation forces arrested five citizens: Amjad Ridwan Hindi, Ka'id Yahya from the city, Fad Abu Hantash, Rayan Abu Sheikha from the Shuwayka suburb, and Fathi Maher Al-Qab from the town of Deir Al-Ghusun to the north. From Jerusalem, those forces arrested citizen Ali Adwan from the town of Al-Eizariya to the south. The incursions thus far have included the Aqbat Jabr camp south of Jericho, the city of Qalqilya, the village of Kobar northwest of Ramallah, and the town of Kafr Aqab north of Jerusalem. In Jenin, Israeli forces raided the town of Ya'abed and the villages of Zabda and Burqin, as well as raided the village of Far'oun south of Tulkarm. In Nablus, they raided the village of Qaryut south of the city, amidst field reports of tear gas canisters being fired towards the homes of the locals, and assaults carried out by settlers targeting homes in the village of Urif south of Nablus. These developments come after four Palestinians were martyred by the occupation forces' gunfire and four others were injured, including three in critical condition, in the town of Tal southwest of Nablus, following an attack by armed settlers on the town and their assault on residents and their properties. In contrast, the Israeli army announced the killing of an officer and a soldier and the injury of three others during the events near the settlement outpost "Havat Gilad", before it imposed a siege on the city of Nablus and the town of Tal, and dispatched military reinforcements to the West Bank. Israeli escalation on the ground Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Minister of Security Yisrael Katz issued "directions to the army" regarding the West Bank on Friday, after consultations with members of the security cabinet and heads of security services to implement a series of measures in light of the events witnessed in the last 24 hours.
