At the beginning of his speech, Huckabee joked that he checked President Donald Trump's social media accounts to make sure this was not his last speech in Israel, referencing his boss's history of firing employees at midnight via social media. "So I wanted to make sure there was a good reason for my presence. Everything is going well so far," he affirmed.

Huckabee pointed to previous decisions made by the Trump administration, including recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, moving the U.S. embassy to the city, and acknowledging Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, as evidence of this commitment.
