Jordan Condemns Occupation's Seizure of Land Belonging to the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate in Silwan

SadaNews - The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the Israeli occupation authorities' seizure of lands belonging to the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate in the town of Silwan in occupied East Jerusalem, deeming it a blatant violation of international law and humanitarian law, and a violation of the existing historical and legal status.

The official spokesperson for the ministry, Ambassador Fouad Majali, emphasized the Kingdom's absolute rejection of all unilateral, illegal measures and provocative practices aimed at changing the current historical and legal status in Jerusalem and its sanctities, asserting that Israel has no sovereignty over occupied Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites.

Majali called on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities, and to compel Israel to halt all its illegal and unlawful actions in occupied Jerusalem and its ongoing violations of the existing historical and legal status in Islamic and Christian sanctities, emphasizing the necessity of meeting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them the establishment of their independent state on their national soil; the only way to achieve fair and comprehensive peace that ensures security and stability in the region.
