CNN: Emergency Session on Lebanon Tops US-Iran Talks in Switzerland
SadaNews - According to CNN, citing a diplomat, an emergency session dedicated to discussing the situation in Lebanon has been added to the agenda of scheduled talks between Washington and Tehran in Switzerland on Sunday, and it will be the first issue discussed among the participating parties.
This move comes amid rising tensions on the Lebanese scene and ongoing Israeli attacks, which threaten the course of the memorandum of understanding signed between the United States and Iran.
An Iranian official told CNN that ending the fighting in Lebanon constitutes "the most important item on the agenda of the Iranian delegation," noting that Tehran considers establishing a ceasefire a fundamental condition for moving forward with the agreements with Washington.
