Sheikh Discusses with Heads of Municipal Councils in Dura, Deir Samit, and Beit Awa Ways to Enhance the Role of Local Authorities

SadaNews - The Vice President of the State of Palestine, Hussein Sheikh, met today, Saturday, in his office with the heads of the municipal councils in Dura, Deir Samit, and Beit Awa, along with members of the municipal councils in the Hebron Governorate, to discuss ways to enhance the role of local authorities in serving our people.

The meeting was attended by member of the Central Committee of the "Fatah" Movement, Leila Ghannam, as well as the Mayor of Dura, Muhannad Amro, the Mayor of Deir Samit, Ahmed Al-Hroub, the Mayor of Beit Awa, Abbas Al-Masalmeh, and the head of the Youth Council of Dura, Ahmed Al-Amayreh.

During the meeting, Sheikh emphasized the importance of the role played by municipalities as essential partners in the process of construction and development and in providing services to citizens. He stressed the need to support the resilience of local authorities and empower them to fulfill their national and service duties, especially in light of the current conditions facing the cities, villages, and refugee camps in the West Bank due to ongoing assaults and violations.

For their part, the heads of the local councils reviewed the key challenges and needs facing the cities and the efforts being made to develop services and developmental projects, appreciating the attention and continuous support of the Palestinian leadership for local authorities.
