Trump Threatens to Bomb Iran "If It Doesn't Stop Its Agents in Lebanon"

SadaNews - Despite the start of negotiations between Washington and Tehran in Switzerland on Sunday, U.S. President Donald Trump renewed his threat to bomb Iran if the Lebanese Hezbollah continued to "stir up trouble," as he put it.

Trump wrote on the "Truth Social" platform: "Iran must immediately stop its heavily paid agents in Lebanon from stirring up trouble," referring to Hezbollah.

He added: "If they don't do that, we will strike Iran very hard again, just like we did last week, and even more strongly."

In a related context, Trump told a Fox News correspondent on Sunday that the United States could become the "guardian angel" of the Strait of Hormuz and could take 20 percent of the oil.

He added: "We might control the Strait of Hormuz if we have to," and if that happens, "I will bomb Iran severely."

Trump continued, repeating what he said on Saturday: "If they do not sign an agreement, we will impose tariffs in the Strait of Hormuz."

Fox News revealed that Trump spoke with the Iranians overnight, warning them against closing the Strait of Hormuz, after the Revolutionary Guard announced it would impose restrictions on navigation in the strategic waterway due to Israel intensifying its attacks on Lebanon.

Trump confirmed he sent a message to Iranian officials, stating: "If you close the strait, you will not have a country. You won't even be able to return to your own country."

Trump's latest threats come as direct negotiations between the United States and Iran began in Switzerland on Sunday, with representatives from both mediating countries, Pakistan and Qatar, present, aiming to completely end the conflict in the Middle East.
