After Trump's Threats.. Qalibaf: Washington Must Be Cautious as Our Armed Forces Are Ready to Respond

SadaNews - In response to the recent threats from U.S. President Donald Trump to resume bombing, Iranian Parliament Speaker and Chief Negotiator Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf stated on Sunday that the U.S. must be cautious in its statements, as the Iranian armed forces are ready to respond.

Qalibaf also advised Washington to "be mindful" of its statements, coinciding with the commencement of new negotiations between the two parties in Switzerland.

He wrote on X platform, "Don't they see that if their threats had any effect, they wouldn't be in a state of despair now? We do not take American threats into consideration."

He added, "It is better for them to be aware of what they are declaring... Our armed forces are ready to respond to them in different ways... No matter what they say, we are the ones who take the initiative to act."

Previously, the Iranian news agency "Tasnim" reported on Sunday that the Iranian delegation participating in the ongoing negotiations in Switzerland is considering options for responding to the recent statements and threats made by President Donald Trump.

According to the agency, the members of the Iranian delegation are assessing the proposed positions and mechanisms for dealing with U.S. pressures, amidst a charged atmosphere as the talks between the two sides continue.

Earlier today, President Donald Trump hinted at the possibility of the United States taking control of the Strait of Hormuz if necessary, threatening Iran with destruction if the ongoing negotiations fail.

Trump told Fox News, "I will destroy Iran if they do not reach an agreement... and we may take control of the Strait of Hormuz if necessary."

According to "Fox News," President Trump warned the Iranians that closing the Hormuz Strait means that the negotiating delegation would not be able to return.

It added that the U.S. president warned the Iranians yesterday against closing the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump's statements come at a time when negotiations between Washington and Tehran are witnessing intense diplomatic efforts with regional mediation, amid anticipation of the talks' results and their implications for regional security and global markets.
