Haaretz: 36 Israeli Army Soldiers Killed in Lebanon Battles Over 3 Months
SadaNews - The southern Lebanese front has witnessed a noticeable escalation since the beginning of the current round of war on March 2, with Israeli reports increasingly detailing casualties among the army. The Hebrew newspaper Haaretz reported that 36 Israeli officers and soldiers have been killed in the ongoing battles since that date, indicating the scale of losses incurred by the Israeli occupation forces.
In an official statement, the occupation army acknowledged this morning, Sunday, the death of Sergeant First Class Nafiah Habshush, a fighter in the armored corps within battalion 52, during a battle in southern Lebanon. This announcement comes amid a series of successive acknowledgments of the human losses faced by the army in confrontations with Hezbollah fighters.
For its part, Israeli radio reported that 6 soldiers, including a senior officer, were killed, and more than twenty others were injured in attacks carried out by Hezbollah since last Thursday.
Meanwhile, the newspaper Yediot Ahronot revealed that the Israeli army has surrounded about 30 Hezbollah fighters inside a network of tunnels in the "Ali al-Tahir" hills. Despite official orders to ceasefire, the newspaper confirmed that Israeli forces will not withdraw from the area surrounding the besieged zone for the time being, indicating the likelihood of continued confrontations in the coming days.
