Two Martyrs and Injuries from Occupation Fire in Khan Younis and Gaza City
SadaNews - Two people were martyred and a third was injured on Saturday evening due to shelling from an Israeli drone targeting the Al-Amal neighborhood in the northwestern part of Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip, as the escalation and violations of the fragile ceasefire agreement that has been in effect since October 11, 2025, continue.
The occupation forces renewed their fire towards areas east of the Tuffah neighborhood in eastern Gaza City, coinciding with low-flying drones over the skies of Khan Younis in southern Gaza Strip.
Local reports indicated on Friday that five people were injured due to artillery shelling that targeted a school housing displaced persons in Jabalia camp, and that ambulance crews transported the five injured after an Israeli artillery shell fell on "Abu Hussein" school in the camp.
In the central Gaza Strip, Israeli airstrikes destroyed two homes belonging to the Al-Aidi and Al-Khamesi families in the Al-Maghazi camp on Friday, following warnings to evacuate two residential areas.
This coincides with the deepening economic crisis throughout the Gaza Strip, as the war has caused widespread paralysis affecting various production and commercial sectors, leading to a significant loss of income sources and job opportunities for many residents, while the priority for most families has shifted to securing food, shelter, and basic necessities.
Economic specialists believe that the start of the recovery process requires the actual commencement of an organized relief phase by fully opening the crossings and bringing in essential goods and supplies, along with removing restrictions that hinder commercial movement, in addition to addressing the imbalances that emerged in the markets during the war period.
Experts also emphasize the importance of launching temporary employment programs targeted at the unemployed, which would help provide income for affected families and gradually alleviate the severity of unemployment and poverty, paving the way for creating the necessary conditions to reactivate the local economy.
