US Officials: Trump to Meet Leaders Including Arabs During G7 Summit on Tuesday

SadaNews - Senior US officials said on Saturday that President Donald Trump will meet with leaders from the Middle East on Tuesday and will participate in a working session with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during the G7 summit scheduled to take place in France next week.

The officials noted that Trump will hold separate meetings with the leaders of Egypt, Qatar, the UAE, France, and India.

They added that there are no plans for a bilateral meeting with Zelensky, but the two leaders may meet on the sidelines of the summit, according to a report by Reuters.

One official explained that Trump intends to raise issues of mutual interest with the participating leaders at the summit, including economic growth, development, supply chain resilience, illegal immigration, and artificial intelligence.

The US president also plans to work on strengthening the supply chains of critical minerals needed for advanced technologies.

The officials mentioned that Trump is scheduled to attend a dinner at the Palace of Versailles on Wednesday before returning to Washington.

The Axios website reported that an American official stated that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will not participate in these talks, while Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was also invited but could not attend due to commitments or circumstances that prevented him from doing so.

The official pointed out that "there are historic opportunities in the Middle East, and we will discuss them during meetings with Middle Eastern leaders on the sidelines of the G7 summit."

The same US official stated that a coalition led by Britain and France is set to play a role in removing mines from the Strait of Hormuz after it is reopened.
