Yedioth Ahronoth Reveals New Details from the Tense Call Between Netanyahu and Trump

Translation by SadaNews - The Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth revealed on Friday new details about the tense call that took place last week between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump regarding tensions with Iran.

According to what the newspaper disclosed, Netanyahu spoke in front of cabinet ministers about the details of that call, which were leaked by sources present to the Hebrew newspaper, translated by "SadaNews".

Netanyahu told his ministers that Trump asked him about Iran's attacks against Israel: "Did they kill anyone? I replied: They didn't kill anyone, and I will not accept the equation of retaliation only if they kill. If they attack Israeli territory, I will respond and attack."

Netanyahu also addressed criticisms directed at Israel for being under Trump's control, stating: "We are not subservient to the Americans, but allies of theirs... When you have a partner, you must treat them as a partner; we do not work against them, but with them."

He informed the ministers that Trump is very eager to reach an agreement, claiming: "I told him that I completely understand his desire, but I believe there will be no agreement, and we will not be his victim." Netanyahu was quoted as saying.

The Chief of Staff of the Israeli army, Eyal Zamir, during the discussion addressed the possibility that Israel might have to act alone in Iran, saying: "We can launch a much stronger attack in Iran; we are prepared for a large and powerful wave of attacks, and we have plenty of time to launch a strong solo campaign against Iran, but of course we prefer to do so in cooperation with a partner."

Zamir described the partnership with the US army as a goal that should be maintained, stating: "We have objectives in Iran; we have objectives in Lebanon, and we are working to achieve all objectives, but we must remember that one of the objectives is to maintain the alliance with the partner, and it is very likely that there will be another joint campaign with Iran... The relationship that has developed between us and the US army is unprecedented, and we must preserve it."

Israeli military leaders also addressed the situation of Hezbollah, and the head of military intelligence, Shlomi Binder, said during the discussion: "The scales have turned... Hezbollah was built to attack us if we attacked Iran, but now Iran is the one attacking to protect Hezbollah... this shows their weakness; Hezbollah is in a more threatened position than ever before."

The head of military intelligence research said: "The Iranian response to us has been limited from the Iranian perspective."
