War on Gaza: Al-Qassam mourns its Chief of Staff and martyrs in an occupation attack

SadaNews - Israel continued its attacks on the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, the first day of Eid al-Adha, following an airstrike that targeted the Rimal neighborhood west of Gaza City, resulting in the martyrdom of Al-Qassam Brigades leader Muhammad Awda, alongside his wife and two of his sons, in addition to a number of Palestinians. Hamas mourned him.

In the latest attacks, two Palestinians were injured, one of them seriously, due to shelling carried out by an Israeli drone on a civilian gathering near al-Hittin Mosque in the Al-Falouja area west of the Jabalia camp in the northern sector, according to medical sources that reported the injured were taken to al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City.

This comes amid ongoing Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement that has been in effect since October 10, 2025, which, according to the government media office in Gaza, has resulted in the martyrdom of 910 Palestinians and the injury of 2,747 others since the agreement came into effect.

In this context, Israeli Security Minister Israel Katz announced that Israel "eliminated" Muhammad Awda, whom he said succeeded Az al-Din al-Haddad in leading the Al-Qassam Brigades, while Hamas mourned Awda, known as "Abu Amro," stating he was "from the first founding generation of jihad and military work," and that he was martyred with members of his family in a strike that targeted a residential building in Gaza City.
