Bar Association: Ongoing Land Seizure Actions Are an Intensification of Land Theft in the Absence of an Effective International Justice System
SadaNews - The Palestinian Bar Association stated in a press release in response to the decision of the occupying authorities to seize more than one hundred dunams in the Nabi Samuel area northwest of Jerusalem and to take over the village mosque under the pretext of development, that this is an intensification of land theft and occurs within the context of accelerating measures to entrench the actual and factual annexation of the occupied territory.
The Association pointed out that the absence of international justice for decades and the lack of accountability for the crimes committed against the Palestinian people and their land, despite their severity, have enabled the occupying power to continue its expansionist policies with utter disregard for the rules of international law.
The Association emphasized that the continued international failure to curb these violations and crimes will only lead to more of these crimes and undermine the international system's capacity to protect its founding purposes, especially in maintaining international peace and security and respecting human rights.
