Holding the Palestinian Heritage and Cultural Day Event in Istanbul

SadaNews - The "Palestine Day - Heritage, Cultural, and Artistic" event was held in Istanbul, organized by the Palestinian House of Culture, the Aref Educational Center, and the Musak Initiative, at the Aref Educational Foundation, coinciding with the 78th anniversary of the Nakba of Palestine.

The event was attended by the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the Republic of Turkey, Nasri Abu Jish, along with the Consul General of the State of Palestine in Istanbul, Muath Al-Atsan, in addition to Palestinian, Arab, and Turkish figures.

Abu Jish confirmed that the 78th anniversary of the Nakba comes this year amidst the ongoing criminal Israeli aggression against our people, particularly in the Gaza Strip, along with the accompanying crimes of killing, destruction, starvation, and systematic attempts at forced displacement and breaking the will of our people.

He emphasized that despite the scale of suffering and sacrifices, the Palestinian people will remain steadfast on their land, clinging to their legitimate national rights, asserting that the attempts of the occupation to uproot Palestinians from their land will fail, just as they have over the past decades. He stated that the message of our people today is clear: "We will not leave... Our roots are deeper than their destruction, and our will is stronger than all challenges. Our attachment to our land and identity is stronger than all attempts to uproot and displace us."

The event included a diverse cultural and artistic program featuring poetry readings in both Arabic and Turkish, the opening of a heritage and cultural bazaar, and an exhibition of photographs and cartoons, along with literary and artistic seminars discussing Palestinian literature and the role of art in defending the Palestinian narrative, with the participation of a group of intellectuals, artists, and journalists.

The event emphasized the importance of upholding national identity and enhancing the presence of the Palestinian narrative in international cultural forums to contribute to conveying the just message of the Palestinian people and cementing it in global consciousness.
