Al-Natsheh: Jerusalem is the Essence of the Cause and the Core of the Eighth Fatah Conference Options

SadaNews - The Secretary General of the National Popular Conference for Jerusalem, Major General Bilal Al-Natsheh, a candidate for membership in the Central Committee of the Fatah movement, stated that in light of the significant national challenges facing our Palestinian people in general and the city of Jerusalem in particular, we are today faced with a historical responsibility that requires everyone to rise to the level of the stage, and work with a spirit of unity and genuine national partnership in order to protect Jerusalem and enhance the steadfastness of its people in the face of the policies of occupation and its ongoing attempts to obliterate the national Arab identity of the holy city.

He continued: "Based on our organizational and national responsibility, I call on all brothers and sisters, members of the Eighth General Conference of the Fatah Movement, especially the people of Jerusalem participating in this important organizational entitlement, to make Jerusalem the primary focus in their options, decisions, and elections, because Jerusalem is not just a file among files, but it is the essence of the Palestinian cause and the hallmark of our people's struggle and national dignity."

He added: "It is time for all Jerusalemite, Fatah and national efforts to come together to formulate a genuine program specific to the city of Jerusalem, a program capable of consolidating the steadfastness of the Jerusalemites, supporting national institutions, enhancing the Palestinian presence in the city, and confronting the policies of displacement, demolition, tightening, and settlement that target the people, land, and identity."

He also called for unifying ranks and rejecting all forms of division and internal conflicts, as the current phase cannot bear fragmentation, and Jerusalem needs everyone without exception. The people of Jerusalem have always been at the forefront of defenders of the Palestinian national project and have made immense sacrifices in defense of the city’s Arab identity and its sanctities. It is their right today to be at the heart of the organizational and political decision-making of the Fatah movement."

He said: "While we are struggling for Jerusalem, we cannot overlook the suffering of our people in the Gaza Strip, who are facing difficult humanitarian and national conditions as a result of the ongoing aggression and siege. The unity of the Palestinian blood between Jerusalem, Gaza, the West Bank, and all places where our people exist imposes on us all to work to strengthen national unity and protect the Palestinian national project, because the strength of our people lies in their unity and their commitment to their rights and national constants."

He continued: "The election of competent national figures from Jerusalem and empowering those capable of shouldering the concerns of the city and defending it within the frameworks of the movement and its institutions represents a clear message that Fatah still considers Jerusalem its first compass and the central focus of its struggle.

Al-Natsheh stated: "From here, I affirm that the upcoming stage must witness a stronger Jerusalemite presence within the Central Committee and all the institutions of the movement, in a way that guarantees the transmission of the true suffering of the people of Jerusalem and serious work to provide all means of their steadfastness politically, economically, and socially. He emphasized that "Jerusalem deserves a unified position from all of us, deserves a comprehensive national program, and deserves to be first in our options, elections, and decisions, in tribute to its history, the steadfastness of its people, and the sacrifices of our Palestinian people."
