Fattouh: The "Orange Line" Established by the Occupation in Gaza Aims to Seize Land
SadaNews - The President of the Palestinian National Council, Rouhi Fattouh, stated that what is known as the Orange Line established by the occupation army in the Gaza Strip represents an extension of colonial policies aimed at seizing more land, reducing the area of the Strip, and imposing a coercive reality on our people.
Fattouh affirmed in a statement issued today, Tuesday, his condemnation and rejection of any control over the lands of the Gaza Strip. These measures, alongside what is known as the Yellow Line, represent a colonial and cleansing approach aimed at displacing the population.
He said that the occupation's control over more than 60% of the area of the Strip constitutes a blatant violation of international law and signed agreements, and confirms the occupation government’s evasion of its obligations, particularly withdrawing as an occupying force from the Gaza Strip.
Fattouh called on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities and to stop the double standards, stressing that impunity and the continued support of some countries for the crimes of the occupation are major incentives for the far-right government to continue its incursions and escalation of its crimes.
He called for immediate and binding measures to force the occupation to fully withdraw from the Gaza Strip and to stop all policies aimed at changing the geographical and demographic reality.
He pointed out that these practices, which fall under the crimes of ethnic cleansing and forced displacement, will not grant the occupation any legitimacy, and our people will remain steadfast on their land, holding onto their legitimate national rights until they achieve their freedom and independence.
