Ramallah and Al-Bireh Forces Call to Continue Events Supporting Prisoners and Expand International Movement to Abolish the Death Penalty Law

SadaNews - The national and Islamic forces in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate emphasized the importance of continuing various activities and events to reject the execution law for prisoners and to affirm support for the female and male prisoners in the occupation's jails, who are subjected to systematic campaigns of assaults and ongoing violations of their most basic rights guaranteed by international resolutions and charters.

The forces called for the continuation of international campaigns that have launched in many countries around the world, especially the signature campaign that included dozens of petitions from hundreds of institutions, individuals, associations, and political figures demanding that the occupation government retract the law and abolish its implementation. They also called for further steps taken by many countries to suspend partnership agreements with the occupying state, and demanded more of these steps that would compel the occupying government to comply with international and humanitarian law, expanding them to include parliaments and governments to cut ties with the occupying Knesset and impose international sanctions on the colonial occupation system.

The forces confirmed in their statement this Saturday noon that what is happening in Jerusalem and the Palestinian territories, including the expansion of colonial construction in preparation for future expansionary procedures within the framework of ethnic cleansing policies, and the legitimization of so-called pastoral outposts, along with ongoing assaults by settlers, represent a model of the occupying mentality based on colonial settlement and Judaization. The forces urged the importance of finding immediate action mechanisms to protect Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, as part of a comprehensive protection for the Palestinian people under occupation.

The forces called for crystallizing national unity and extending the rural areas with resilience capabilities, and for official and popular efforts to confront the looming dangers and to support the steadfast economy of the citizens, reaffirming their presence on their land despite the difficult economic conditions and turning towards adopting different procedures and measures. They also called for the broadest campaigns of solidarity and internal cohesion, rejecting disputes, and elevating the level of challenges imposed by the reality of occupation and its measures against our people, in order to preserve the capabilities and history of this great nation.
