"Women's Affairs" Discusses Implementation Mechanisms for the Project "Enhancing Gender Integration and Economic Empowerment of Women" with Partners

SadaNews - The Ministry of Women's Affairs discussed the implementation of the project "Enhancing Gender Integration and Economic Empowerment of Women in Public Policies and Services" during a coordination meeting with partners, funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS).

This coordination meeting comes as part of its leadership of the governmental effort among the relevant ministries, in partnership with the Palestinian Foundation for Empowerment and Local Development "REFORM", the Women's Development and Media Foundation "TAM", Al-Quds University, with participation from the partner ministries: Justice, Social Development, Labor, Economy, Local Government, Finance, Culture, and Tourism and Antiquities.

During the meeting, according to a statement from the ministry today, the objectives of the project and its main components were reviewed, aiming to enhance the capabilities of the ministries to integrate gender into public policies and support women's economic empowerment, contributing to improving their participation opportunities in the labor market and enhancing the response to the needs of various groups.

The meeting also addressed the project components, which include conducting an initial needs assessment within the targeted ministries (Capacity Assessment), analyzing gaps in gender policies, in addition to developing specialized training programs, building the capacities of government staff in the fields of gender integration, social transformation, enhancing women's participation in the labor market, and mechanisms for preventing and responding to protection issues.

Participants discussed the plan for implementing the trainings scheduled to be held in the coming period, and the monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to measure the impact of interventions and enhance knowledge within the participating ministries, ensuring the achievement of the project’s objectives and the sustainability of its results.
