Prisoners' Institutions and National Forces Meet Minister Assaf to Coordinate Media Coverage for Palestinian Prisoner Day

SadaNews - Representatives of prisoners' institutions and national and Islamic forces held a meeting with the official media supervisor, Minister Ahmad Assaf, in the presence of the Director General of Television, Muhammad Barghouti, to discuss ways to coordinate effective and comprehensive media coverage for the activities of Palestinian Prisoner Day, which will take place next Thursday.

Participants in the meeting emphasized the importance of unifying media efforts and utilizing various platforms to convey the message of prisoners and their suffering to the world, reflecting the significance of the issue and its justice, while enhancing its presence in local and international public opinion.

Representatives of prisoners' institutions and national forces expressed their appreciation for the role of official media, valuing its high interest in national issues, topped by the issue of prisoners, considering this approach a natural extension of the Palestinian media's role in defending the rights of its people and shedding light on their ongoing suffering.

For his part, Minister Assaf affirmed the official media's commitment to fulfilling its national and professional duty, emphasizing the mobilization of all resources and energies to cover the activities of Palestinian Prisoner Day in a manner commensurate with the sacrifices and struggles of the prisoners, and work on conveying their voices and their human stories to various parts of the world.

Minister Assaf pointed out that the issue of prisoners is not linked to a specific occasion; rather, it is a continuously present issue on the agenda of the official media, which prioritizes it through news coverage, programs, and special reports, reflecting the depth of this issue in Palestinian national awareness.

The attendees agreed to establish a joint media plan that includes field coverage of the events, preparing diverse media materials that highlight the suffering and resilience of prisoners, alongside hosting national and human rights figures, and launching media campaigns through various means to enhance solidarity with prisoners and support their cause.
