Pakistani Military Force Arrives in Saudi Arabia Under 'Joint Defense Agreement'
SadaNews - The Saudi Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday the arrival of a military force from Pakistan to King Abdulaziz Air Base in the eastern sector, as part of the strategic joint defense agreement signed between the two countries.
The Pakistani force consists of fighter and support aircraft belonging to the air force, aimed at enhancing joint military coordination and increasing operational readiness between the armed forces of both countries, thereby supporting security and stability at both regional and international levels.
Riyadh and Islamabad had expanded their defense partnership with a strategic agreement signed by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif in Riyadh on September 17, 2025, which includes the stipulation that any armed external attack on either country is considered an aggression against both.
According to official information, the agreement culminates a long path of security and military cooperation between the two countries, moving towards a new chapter of defense partnership based on the principle of shared security fate, as both countries seek to enhance their security and achieve peace and stability in the region and the world.
According to a joint statement, the agreement aims to "develop aspects of defense cooperation, enhance mutual deterrence against any aggression, and the agreement stipulates that any aggression against either country is an aggression against both."
At that time, Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman commented on the partnership agreement in a post on his account on the social media platform 'X', stating: "Saudi Arabia and Pakistan... standing together against the aggressor... now and forever."
The Saudi-Pakistani relations have gained considerable momentum over the past eight decades, with mutual visits between leaders of the two countries contributing to transforming historical ties into a comprehensive strategic partnership.
