Honoring Two Swedish Activists in Recognition of Their Humanitarian Contributions in the Palestinian Medical Sector

SadaNews - The General Union of the Palestinian Community in Sweden, in collaboration with the "Unity" group in the Swedish city of Helsingborg, honored Swedish activists Eva Hamid and Yvonne Fredriksson this Thursday evening, in recognition of their humanitarian roles and solidarity with the Palestinian people.

The honoring took place during a national lecture attended by several members of the Palestinian community along with representatives from Arab communities and Swedish supporters. The experiences of the honorees, who worked in hospitals run by the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, were highlighted as they provided medical services to the injured under difficult conditions.

During the event, Eva Hamid shared her experience during the events of the Tel al-Zaatar massacre, noting that the suffering of the Palestinian people continues amidst ongoing assaults. She emphasized the importance of keeping the Palestinian cause present in global awareness.

She confirmed that her personal experience, including the injury that led to the amputation of her arm during those events, did not deter her from continuing to support the Palestinian people and advocate for their cause in various forums.

At the end of the event, Ahmad Suleiman, a member of the administrative board of the General Union of the Palestinian Community in Sweden, presented honorary shields to the two activists in recognition of their humanitarian stances and their history of supporting the Palestinian people.

Participants stressed the importance of enhancing international solidarity with the Palestinian cause and appreciating everyone who contributed to supporting the rights of the Palestinian people and their struggle for freedom and independence.
