SadaNews - Salwad Girls Secondary School from Ramallah and Al-Bireh Education Directorate qualified today, Thursday, to the final stage of the National Knowledge Competition for its ninth season, after defeating Al-Aqsa Girls Secondary School from Jerusalem Education Directorate.

This came during the semi-final qualifiers for schools from the Central Education Directorates, held in the forum hall at the Yasser Arafat Museum, which witnessed the first round of competition between Salwad Girls Secondary School from Ramallah and Al-Bireh, Abu Shkheidem Girls Secondary School from Birzeit, and Awarta Girls Secondary School from South Nablus. The second round featured Dier Istiya Girls Secondary School from Salfit, Al-Aqsa Girls Secondary School from Jerusalem, and Beit Iksa Girls Secondary School from the outskirts of Jerusalem.

The session was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Yasser Arafat Foundation Ahmed Sobeh, the General Director of the Yasser Arafat Foundation Odeh Masharqa, the Assistant Undersecretary for Student Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Sadiq Khudur, and the General Director of Student Activities Muhammad Salem.

Sobeh emphasized the importance of the National Knowledge Competition and its continuation to build a new generation firmly rooted in the land, creating a culturally and nationally aware generation of school students, expressing his pride in the ongoing partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and the Public Broadcasting and Television Authority.

He indicated the necessity of national education beyond school materials and the need to raise national awareness in light of the challenges faced by the Palestinian cause, stressing that students are the pioneers of the future defending the history of Palestine.

The Yasser Arafat Foundation reiterated its steadfast commitment to enhancing and documenting the Palestinian national narrative and spreading it in the face of the occupying forces’ false narrative.

For his part, Khudur highlighted the importance of this competition, which falls within the framework of instilling national awareness in Palestinian schools and serving the cognitive contexts among students.

He pointed to the ministry’s keenness to support such competitions, enhancing them holistically and systematically, contributing to solidifying them as a sustainable national and knowledge culture.

The Yasser Arafat Foundation clarified that the National Knowledge Competition resumed its sessions for its ninth season without the participation of the educational directorates in Gaza due to the implications of the genocide experienced by the sector.

The Yasser Arafat Foundation and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education organize the National Knowledge Competition for the ninth consecutive year in cooperation with the Public Broadcasting and Television Authority. The competition focuses on national culture for school students in the provinces of the homeland, aiming to increase awareness of the contemporary Palestinian reality, enhance the national identity of rising Palestinian generations, and promote museum culture.
