What is the death toll from the war in Iran?

SadaNews - Thousands of people have been killed in the region affected by the war since it began, when the United States and Israel launched an attack on Iran on February 28, leading Tehran to respond with attacks on Israel and American bases in Gulf countries, and reopening new fronts in Lebanon and Yemen.

 

Here is the latest tally of war casualties, according to the international news agency "Reuters":

Iran

The US-based human rights news agency, "Hrana", reports that 3,540 people have died since the war erupted, including 1,616 civilians, among them at least 244 children.

The agency states that it gathers its data from field reports, local and medical sources, relief organizations, civil society organizations, materials from open sources, and official data.

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies stated on Friday that at least 1,900 civilians have been killed, and 20,000 people injured in the US and Israeli raids on Iran so far.

It remains unclear whether these numbers include at least 104 individuals who the Iranian army reported were killed after an American submarine sank an Iranian warship off the coast of Sri Lanka on March 4.

Lebanon

Lebanese authorities announced the martyrdom of 1,461 people in Israeli raids since March 2, among them at least 124 children.

Two informed sources told "Reuters" that "more than 400 Hezbollah militants have been killed since the party entered the war on March 2". 

In a related context, the Lebanese army reported the death of at least 10 soldiers since March 2, in Israeli raids on the country, most of them in the south.

Three Indonesian UN peacekeepers were killed in separate incidents in southern Lebanon.

Israel

The Magen David Adom reported that 19 people have been killed as a result of missile fire from Iran and Lebanon. The army stated that 10 of its soldiers have been killed in southern Lebanon.

In another incident, Israeli forces mistakenly killed an Israeli farmer near the border with Lebanon on March 22.

The United States

The US military announced the killing of 13 personnel, 6 of whom were confirmed dead following a military refueling plane crash in Iraq, while 7 others were killed during battles with Iran.

An American official told "Reuters" on Friday that 12 American soldiers were injured, two of them seriously, in an Iranian attack on Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia.

Iraq

Iraqi health authorities reported that at least 108 people have been killed since the start of the war, including civilians, members of the Popular Mobilization Forces, soldiers from the army, and fighters from the Kurdish Peshmerga allied with the United States.

Security officials at an Iraqi port stated that a foreign crew member was killed in an attack targeting tankers near the port.

The UAE

Emirati authorities announced the death of 12 people in Iranian attacks, including two military personnel. The latest casualties were reported after debris fell due to an intercepted attack on gas facilities in Habshan, Abu Dhabi.

Qatar

The Ministry of Defense stated that 7 people were killed on March 22, in a helicopter crash over Qatari territorial waters due to technical failure during a routine mission. The ministry did not provide any further details.

Four of the dead were members of the Qatari armed forces, one was Turkish from the Qatari-Turkish joint forces, and two were technicians.

Kuwait

Kuwait's authorities reported a total of 7 deaths, including 3 due to Iranian attacks, two members of the Ministry of Interior, and two from the armed forces.

The West Bank

Four Palestinian women were killed in an Iranian missile attack in the occupied West Bank.

Syria

The Syrian Arab news agency reported that 4 people were killed when an Iranian missile struck a building in the city of Sweida in southern Syria on February 28.

Bahrain

The Ministry of Interior announced the death of two people in separate Iranian attacks, the latest being an attack on a residential building in Manama.

The Emirati Ministry of Defense reported on March 24 that one of its civilian contractors was killed in an Iranian attack on Bahrain, identifying the contractor as of Moroccan nationality.

Oman

Two people were killed in a drone attack on an industrial area in Sohar on March 13, marking the first fatalities in the sultanate, which hosted mediation talks between the United States and Iran.

The operating company of one of the tankers reported that a person was killed earlier after a shell struck the tanker off the coast of Muscat.

Saudi Arabia

Two people were killed when a shell landed in a residential area in the city of Al Kharj, southeast of Riyadh.

France

A French soldier was killed and 6 others were injured following a drone attack in northern Iraq.
