Trump: It's time for Iran to make a deal "before it's too late"
SadaNews - On Thursday, U.S. President Donald Trump published a video on social media showing, according to him, the demolition of the largest bridge in Iran in an airstrike, stating that it is time for Iran to reach an agreement "before it is too late."
The Iranian news agency "Fars" reported that a bridge connecting the Iranian capital Tehran to the city of Karaj in the west of the country was targeted in airstrikes on Thursday, adding that preliminary estimates indicate that several people were injured, and other areas in Karaj were also targeted, according to Reuters.
U.S. President Donald Trump said in a televised address to the nation on Wednesday evening that the U.S. military is close to completing the goals it set for its war with Iran and that the conflict will end soon.
In his address to the nation from the White House, the President stated: "We will deliver very intense strikes to them in the next two or three weeks. We will return them to the Stone Age they belong to. Meanwhile, discussions are ongoing." He added: "If an agreement is not reached, we will strike each of their power stations severely, perhaps simultaneously."
Trump, who faces a wary American public regarding the conflict and a decline in his popularity, mentioned that the United States has destroyed the naval and aerial forces of the Islamic Republic and inflicted severe damage on its nuclear program and ballistic missile program.
He added that the United States will continue targeting sites in Iran over the next two to three weeks.
He said: "I am pleased to say tonight that these key strategic objectives are nearing completion." He continued: "We will complete the mission, and we will complete it very quickly. We are very close to achieving it."
