Presidency Condemns: Approval of 2,162 New Settlement Units
SadaNews - The Palestinian presidency condemned today, Wednesday, the announcement by the Israeli occupation authorities regarding the approval to build 2,162 new settlement units in the occupied West Bank.
The presidency affirmed that all settlements are illegitimate and will not confer legitimacy to anyone, representing a blatant challenge to international legitimacy and UN resolutions, particularly UN Security Council Resolution 2334, which reaffirms their illegitimacy in all occupied territories, including East Jerusalem.
The presidency held the occupation authorities responsible for the grave consequences of these provocative policies that will push the region towards further rounds of violence and escalation, urging the U.S. administration to intervene immediately to stop the Israeli madness if it truly seeks to achieve security and stability in the region and the world.
It emphasized that the Palestinian people will remain steadfast on their land, adhering to their legitimate national rights, and these plans will not deter them from continuing their struggle until the establishment of their state with June 4, 1967 borders and its capital in East Jerusalem.
