Trump: The Iranian Leader is Engaged in Talks with Us and I May Meet Him
SadaNews: U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Wednesday that Iranian leader Ali Khamenei is engaged in negotiations between Washington and Tehran, indicating that he may meet him at some point.
Trump clarified in an online conversation (podcast) that the situation with Iran "is developing rapidly and will be very good".
The U.S. President added: "Iran has already agreed not to possess nuclear weapons", mentioning that "the Iranian leader is participating in negotiations with the United States".
Trump continued: "I may meet with the Iranian leader at some point".
Regarding ground intervention in Iran, Trump clarified: "We do not need to deploy ground troops right now".
Regarding the Lebanese issue, Trump affirmed his dissatisfaction with the ongoing conflict between Lebanon and Israel.
Concerning the sharp call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump said: "It did happen... I wasn't angry, but I was a bit annoyed with his ongoing struggle with Lebanon", but he added that his relationship with Netanyahu is very good.
