A Stand in Hebron Rejecting the 'Execution Law for Prisoners'

SadaNews - Citizens in the city of Hebron participated today, Thursday, in a stand rejecting the Israeli Knesset's approval of the "Execution Law for Palestinian Prisoners".

Participants in the stand, which was called for by the Palestinian Prisoners and Released Prisoners Affairs Commission and the Palestinian Prisoners Club in front of the Red Cross headquarters in the city, emphasized their support and solidarity with the detainees in the occupation's prisons and rejected this unjust law against them.

The event was attended by representatives of national activities, families of prisoners, as well as members of the released prisoners and a crowd of citizens.

Participants raised pictures of the martyrs among the prisoners whose bodies are held, and banners condemning this law, calling on the international community and the United Nations to act urgently to annul it and to assume their responsibilities in providing international protection for the detainees.

Ibrahim Najajrah, the director of the Prisoners and Released Prisoners Affairs Commission, urged the international community and human rights organizations to take immediate action to cancel this law, which he described as a flagrant violation of the rights of prisoners.

He also emphasized the necessity of resuming visits by the International Red Cross Committee to the detainees in the occupation's prisons to check on their catastrophic conditions.

For his part, Amjad Najjar, the general director of the Palestinian Prisoners Club, stated that the "Execution Law for Prisoners" represents a grave escalation and a blatant violation of international law, describing it as a "criminal decision" that directly targets Palestinians, and calling on the international community to take immediate action to annul it.
