On the 50th Anniversary of Land Day: Abbas Zaki Emphasizes Commitment to Land and Continued Struggle Until End of Occupation

SadaNews - Abbas Zaki, the Commissioner for Arab Relations and the People's Republic of China, confirmed that the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Land Day represents a renewed struggle that reflects the Palestinian people's commitment to their land and rights in the face of the policies of confiscation, displacement, and uprooting practiced by the Israeli occupation authorities for more than seven decades.

This was stated during the opening of the advisory council session of the Commission for Arab Relations and the People’s Republic of China, which was held yesterday afternoon at the commission's headquarters in Ramallah.

Zaki indicated that Land Day will remain a permanent symbol of the resilience of the Palestinian people and a representation of the organic relationship between humans and their land, directing a special salute to the six martyrs who fell in the Galilee on March 30, 1976, whose sacrifices have immortalized this day in the national memory, making it an annual occasion that confirms the continuation of the struggle until the end of occupation.

Zaki reviewed the key challenges facing the Palestinian cause, considering this one of the most critical phases since the Nakba, stressing the importance of the unity of Fatah Movement and its cohesion in facing attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause and enhancing its leading role by expanding relations with Arab and progressive parties, especially with the Chinese Communist Party.

He also indicated that holding the eighth general conference of the movement represents an important organizational entitlement, set to take place on May 14, as approved by the preparatory committee, with the attendance of President Mahmoud Abbas.

In this context, Zaki reviewed the most significant achievements of the commission over the past period, which included meetings with a number of Arab parties and participation in webinars via video conferencing, alongside ongoing exploratory visits to the People's Republic of China to learn about its experience in governance, management, and development.

The attendees discussed a number of strategic issues related to the work of the commission, and it was agreed to prepare a five-year action plan that includes the establishment of specialized committees and divisions according to the geographic distribution in the Arab world and the People's Republic of China, to be presented and discussed in the next meeting.
