Israel Halts Security Purchases from France in Protest of Its Positions
SadaNews - Recently, the Director General of the Israeli Occupation Army Ministry, Amir Baram, decided to completely halt security purchases from France, as part of the ministry's decision to reduce arms purchases from countries that criticize Israel's wars and take actions against it.
Israeli Channel 12 reported today, Tuesday, that instead of buying weapons from France, Israel will rely on local weapons production and purchase arms from "friendly countries".
Israel considers that France has taken "hostile" positions against it since the beginning of the war, including banning Israeli representatives from participating in conferences and exhibitions held in France and supporting France's call in the UN General Assembly to impose an arms embargo on Israel.
The channel pointed out that the halt in security purchases from France is part of a decision by Baram and the Minister of the Occupation Army, Israel Katz, to expand security industries in Israel to achieve "independence in Israeli ammunition," as a lesson learned from the war period in Gaza, but Israel will continue to purchase arms from countries it describes as friendly to it.
