The Palestinian Community in Austria Commemorates the 50th Anniversary of Land Day
SadaNews - The Palestinian community in Austria, in cooperation with the Embassy of the State of Palestine and the Union of Palestinian Doctors and Pharmacists, commemorated the 50th anniversary of Land Day through a national event held in the capital Vienna, with wide attendance from members of the Palestinian and Arab communities, alongside several Austrian supporters, and the participation of the Secretary of the Fatah Movement in Austria.
The event began with the playing of the Palestinian national anthem, followed by a moment of silence in honor of the souls of the martyrs, in a national scene that reflected meanings of loyalty and sacrifice.
The President of the Palestinian community in Austria, Abdul Aziz Taha, emphasized the importance of Palestinian decision-making unity, calling on community members to rally around it as a comprehensive national framework and a component of the Palestinian Liberation Organization, which contributes to enhancing the unity of the Palestinian ranks abroad.
For his part, the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Austria, Salah Abdel Shafi, pointed to the ongoing suffering of the Palestinian people amid Israeli occupation policies, stressing the replacement nature of the settlement project that targets Palestinian land and people. He also addressed the catastrophic humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the need for the international community to act to stop the ongoing violations.
The event concluded with a distinguished national artistic performance by the "Shtat" Palestinian folklore troupe, which created a traditional atmosphere reflecting the depth of national identity and the spirit of Palestinian belonging.
