The Palestinian Community in Austria Commemorates the 50th Anniversary of Land Day

SadaNews - The Palestinian community in Austria, in collaboration with the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Austria and the Union of Palestinian Physicians and Pharmacists, held a national festival yesterday, Saturday, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Land Day, with wide attendance from members of the community and the Palestinian people in Austria, as well as Austrian supporters in the Austrian capital, Vienna.

The event began with the playing of the Palestinian national anthem, followed by a moment of silence for the souls of the martyrs, in a patriotic scene that embodied the meanings of loyalty and sacrifice.

The head of the Palestinian community in Austria, Dr. Abdul Aziz Taha, emphasized the importance of Palestinian decision-making unity, calling on community members to rally around the Palestinian community as it serves as a unifying national framework and one of the components of the Palestine Liberation Organization, which enhances the unity of the Palestinian ranks abroad.

Palestinian Ambassador to Austria Salah Eid Al-Shafi highlighted the ongoing suffering of the Palestinian people under Israeli occupation policies, emphasizing the nature of the settlement project that targets Palestinian land and people.

Al-Shafi also discussed the ongoing extermination faced by the Gaza Strip, pointing to the severity of the humanitarian situation and the necessity for the international community to act to stop the violations.

The event concluded with a distinctive national artistic performance presented by the "Shatat" Folklore Group, which created a traditional atmosphere reflecting the depth of national identity and the spirit of Palestinian belonging.
