Palestinian Liberation Organization's Popular Federations in Sweden Discuss Enhancing Political Participation of the Palestinian Community with the Social Democratic Party

SadaNews - The Popular Federations of the Palestinian Liberation Organization in Sweden met today, Wednesday, via the video conferencing platform "Zoom" with the leadership of the Social Democratic Party, featuring several of its leaders, including Morgan Johansson and Johan Persson, to discuss the developments in the political landscape in Sweden, ahead of the elections scheduled for September, and the role of the Palestinian community in these electoral processes.

The meeting was opened by the President of the General Union of the Palestinian Community in Sweden, Amjad Alaloul, who welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of enhancing dialogue and communication with Swedish political forces, contributing to supporting integration issues and preserving the Palestinian national identity.

Participants discussed a range of issues, most notably assessing the current political situation in Sweden under the right-wing government, the challenges facing communities, and ways to enhance political participation through democratic action and building partnerships with forces and parties that support Palestinian rights.

It was also underscored the role played by the Social Democratic Party in supporting the Palestinian cause and its historical positions, in addition to discussing prospects for joint cooperation to enhance the Palestinian community's presence in Swedish political life.

The meeting saw wide participation from representatives of the Palestinian community from all Swedish cities, where participants emphasized the importance of unifying efforts and intensifying collective work to ensure effective and influential representation in the upcoming Swedish elections.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the attendees stressed the necessity of continuing such dialogues, given their role in enhancing positive integration and supporting the Palestinian people's struggle in international forums.
