Prisoners' Authority and Prisoners' Club: The Occupation Executed Young Man Qasem Shaqirat During His Arrest

SadaNews - The Palestinian Authority of Prisoners and Released Prisoners and the Palestinian Prisoners' Club stated that Israeli occupation forces executed young man Qasem Amjad Shaqirat (21 years old) from the Jabal Mukabber neighborhood of Jerusalem during his arrest today, Wednesday. This crime adds to hundreds of cases of field executions that have peaked following the ongoing genocide.

The authority and the club clarified in a statement issued today, Wednesday, that the occupation forces fired at Shaqirat after storming his house, then arrested him without revealing his fate, before he was later announced as a martyr.

The institutions condemned this crime, which again reflects the state of brutality practiced by the occupation system around the clock against Palestinians, targeting their existence by killing more of them.

The authority and the club pointed out that field executions have constituted, and still constitute, one of the most prominent systematic policies adopted by the occupation over many decades, which have seen an unprecedented escalation following the genocide, including the execution of citizens during arrest operations in the West Bank, where occupation soldiers deliberately fire live ammunition directly with the intent to kill during invasion and arrest operations they carry out.

The institutions confirmed that this crime comes just hours after the National Security Committee approved a bill for the execution of prisoners, which is considered one of the tools of the occupation's efforts to entrench genocide against prisoners through legal frameworks, amid the continued complicity of the international system and its support for the occupation to continue its genocide crimes and its racist settlement system, which aims to liquidate the Palestinian presence.
