Hamas: Knesset's Approval of Executing Prisoners is a Dangerous Step That Prepares for Crimes of Murder and Liquidation Against Prisoners in Detention

SadaNews - The Islamic Resistance Movement - Hamas, stated in a statement that the approval by the National Security Committee in the occupying Knesset, in its first reading, of what is known as the law to execute Palestinian prisoners, represents a serious terrorist step that paves the way for the implementation of crimes of murder and liquidation against prisoners inside prisons.

The movement added in the statement that this "approval confirms the unprecedented brutal decline in the occupation system, which blatantly violates all international laws and treaties regarding war prisoners".

It warned of the dangers of this law, considering that the occupation "is seeking through it to turn prisons into arenas for direct liquidation, after having practiced all forms of slow killing against prisoners through torture, deprivation, and medical neglect".

It held the occupation responsible for the repercussions of this "criminal law that legalizes murder", emphasizing that any harm to the lives of prisoners inside prisons is a red line that will open the gates of anger and confrontation by all means.

It called on the people and the nation to intensify efforts to support and advocate for the prisoners' cause, and to escalate popular activities in all arenas, as it called on the international community, prisoner institutions, human rights organizations, and all the free people of the world to take urgent action to stop this crime before it is sanctioned definitively.
