Charges Filed Against Iranian and Romanian Attempting to Enter British Nuclear Submarine Base
SadaNews - The Scottish Police reported today (Saturday) that charges have been filed against an Iranian man and a Romanian woman after they attempted to enter the British nuclear submarine base in Scotland.
The two individuals, described by British media as suspected Iranian spies, were arrested the day before yesterday.
This comes three weeks after the outbreak of the US-Israeli war on Iran. Although Britain did not participate in the attacks on Tehran, its forces have shot down Iranian missiles and drones in the Gulf region.
The "Clyde" Royal Naval base is located on the west coast of Scotland and is of great importance to Britain’s security, as it hosts the British nuclear submarine fleet, along with attack submarines.
The Scottish Police stated that the Iranian man (34 years old) and the Romanian woman (31 years old) are scheduled to appear before a court in Dumbarton on March 23.
