"Hello Breakfast".. Free Meals Delivered to Homes in Istanbul Throughout Ramadan

SadaNews - The Esenler Municipality in Istanbul has announced the launch of the "Hello Breakfast" line to deliver free Iftar meals to the homes of families unable to prepare food due to work pressure or health conditions, throughout Ramadan.

Esenler Mayor Muhammad Tawfiq Goksu stated that the service targets fasting individuals whose circumstances prevent them from preparing Iftar meals, explaining that each meal is sufficient for four people and is delivered directly to homes after receiving the order via the dedicated line.

Goksu added that the initiative is part of a broader Ramadan program launched by the municipality to promote social solidarity, noting that field teams will prepare and distribute meals daily to registered beneficiaries.

The service is part of a series of social activities implemented by the municipality during the holy month, which includes communal Iftar tables and solidarity activities, within the framework of what the municipality describes as supporting needy groups and alleviating their living burdens.

Goksu emphasized that Ramadan is a "month of mercy, forgiveness, and mutual support," indicating that the municipality has worked on decorating the streets, squares, and schools with special decorations and lights to revive the Ramadan atmosphere in various neighborhoods of the area.

"Hello Breakfast" and the Home Iftar Model

Goksu clarified that the municipality will activate a phone line titled "Hello Breakfast" to meet the requests of families unable to prepare their Iftar meal, as complete tables will be set up in the homes of those in need. He pointed out that the municipality has foregone Iftar tents this year in favor of the home Iftar model, where food consisting of four dishes will be provided daily to about 100 families, taking into account the needs for Suhoor (pre-dawn meal).

He noted that municipal officials will participate in Iftar tables within selected homes, in a step aimed at enhancing the spirit of community solidarity.

He also highlighted that the municipality possesses one of the largest catering kitchens in Turkey, with a production capacity of up to 120,000 meals when needed, assuring that the needy will be hosted there daily free of charge throughout Ramadan.

Cultural Activities and Youth Tours

In the cultural aspect, the mayor explained that a special program will be organized daily to host Iftar for 100 young people at historical and cultural sites in Istanbul, in addition to organizing "security tours" targeting various age groups to visit historical and cultural landmarks.

He added that public squares will witness activities for children, family programs, and cultural activities after Iftar, along with the allocation of "Anatolian street" and areas for events and points for serving tea and coffee.

Night of Decree Program and Lottery for Umrah

He explained that the Ramadan program will conclude with an event on the Night of Decree under the title "10,000 Recitations and 100,000 Supplications," emphasizing the continuation of the tradition of drawing for a Umrah trip as in previous years.

He pointed out that special teams will be tasked with waking residents for Suhoor, and that some mosques will conduct the Taraweeh prayers in the traditional manner known as "the Androni style."
