Continuation of Condemnation Reactions to Israeli Decisions Aiming to Solidify Attempts to Annex the West Bank

SadaNews - Reactions condemning the Israeli decisions aimed at solidifying attempts to annex the West Bank through escalating settlement construction and facilitating land purchases by settlers have continued.

"Fatah" considers these decisions as undermining any political horizon

The Palestinian National Liberation Movement "Fatah" condemned the decisions of the Israeli occupation government approved by the cabinet, which target deepening the creeping annexation plan of the West Bank, legalizing the theft of Palestinian land, and opening the way for colonial settlement through racist legal tools.

Fatah stated in a statement that the removal of secrecy from land records, facilitating their appropriation, allowing the demolition of Palestinian buildings, and lifting restrictions on land purchases collectively represent a new phase in the comprehensive war of occupation against Palestinian existence, clearly revealing that this government is proceeding to undermine any political horizon, striking at the two-state solution, and forcibly imposing a reality of apartheid.

Fatah confirmed that these decisions are null and illegitimate, and will not grant the occupation any legal or political right, as Palestinian land is not a commodity, and the rights of our people are non-negotiable and cannot be sold.

It added: "We hold the occupying government fully responsible for the repercussions of these escalation policies, and we call on the international community, foremost the United Nations and the states that have signed the Geneva Conventions, to bear their legal and moral responsibilities, stop the double standards, and take practical measures to deter and hold the occupation accountable".

Fatah emphasized that it will continue, along with our Palestinian people, to defend the land and national rights, and to confront the annexation and settlement plans no matter how intense the pressures may be.

Resistance to the Wall and Settlement: The Occupation Adds a New Layer to Its Crimes Against Palestinian Geography

The head of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Minister Muayad Shaban, stated that the recent decisions issued by the Israeli occupation government not only represent a new aggression against the rights of the Palestinian people, but also place the occupation in direct confrontation with the international community and its legal and political system, by undermining the foundations of international law, destroying the references for political settlement, and openly overturning the signed agreements, foremost among them the Oslo Accords and the Hebron Agreement, in a clear political framework that aims to transform land administration, ownership, and geography into tools of control and concealed annexation.

Shaban stressed that the state of occupation is crowning its criminal racist actions in recent years with these decisions, practically announcing the end of any political or legal commitment to the negotiating paths, and moving to a phase of imposing realities by force, through expanding settlement and consolidating creeping annexation and legalizing land theft, and building a new legal and administrative system that involves removing secrecy from land records in the West Bank, allowing the revealing of owners' names and directly reaching them to purchase lands, transforming the property registry into an organized settlement tool, not a tool for protecting ownership, in addition to enacting laws that abolish the prohibition of selling land to non-Arabs, abolishing the requirement of official approval for real estate transactions, allowing settlers to purchase land personally, and lifting bureaucratic restrictions that were an obstacle to colonial infiltration, all turning the Palestinian real estate market into an open arena for organized control and systematic infiltration.

Shaban explained that the decisions extend to re-engineering control over cities and sanctities, by transferring building licensing powers in the city of Hebron, including the Ibrahimi Mosque, from the Hebron municipality to the civil administration subordinate to the occupation army and the responsibility of Smotrich, practically leading to the expansion of the colonial settlement in the heart of the city, emptying the Hebron Agreement of its political and legal content, and transforming the colonial outpost into an independent local authority, in a direct dismantling step of Palestinian municipal sovereignty in Hebron, Bethlehem, and other Palestinian holy places.

He added that the cabinet's approval to impose oversight and enforcement on unlicensed Palestinian buildings in areas classified A and B under the pretext of protecting archaeological and heritage sites represents a dangerous expansion of control tools, opening the door for the appropriation of Palestinian lands and the demolition of buildings within areas that should be under Palestinian sovereignty, leading to a complete collapse of any meaning of the administrative and political borders stipulated in the signed agreements.

Shaban clarified that what is happening is not separate actions or technical decisions, but a comprehensive political project aimed at eliminating Palestinian national identity through raising settlement to the level of state doctrine, imposing a coercive and repelling environment on Palestinians, dismantling Palestinian geography, undermining resilience components, and transforming Palestinian existence into a threatened and politically, economically, and demographically unstable existence, within a framework of forced reconfiguration of the demographic and geographic scene serving the colonial settlement project.

He warned that these policies represent a dangerous strategic escalation that threatens not only the Palestinian people but also undermines the foundations of the international order based on law, destabilizes international legitimacy, and places Israel in direct collision with the international community, not just with Palestinians, by converting power into a sole reference, annexation into official policy, and settlement into a tool of governance.

He affirmed that the international community is now facing a true test of its credibility, either to stand against this colonial settlement project or to accept turning international law into valueless texts, legitimizing the policy of force and annexation as a method for managing conflicts, which opens the door to the collapse of the entire international legal system.

He added that the Palestinian people will continue their legitimate struggle in defense of their land and rights, and these decisions, no matter how grave, will not create legitimacy, will not change the reality of the land, and will not annul their historical and original right to it, and that the settlement project will eventually come to an end, no matter how long it takes.

The Foreign Ministry Rejects and Condemns the Israeli Cabinet's Decisions Regarding the West Bank

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine rejected the approval of the Israeli cabinet today (Sunday) of a series of criminal decisions.

The Foreign Ministry condemned the relentless Israeli attempts to impose a reality through colonial settlement and changing the legal reality and status of the occupied Palestinian land, including Jerusalem.

The Foreign Ministry emphasized that Israel has no sovereignty over any of the cities or lands of the occupied State of Palestine, and that as an occupying power, it has no right to abrogate or amend laws, including those Jordanian laws in force as part of the laws of the State of Palestine.

The Foreign Ministry of the State of Palestine confirmed that this approval constitutes an announcement of the commission of a complete war crime, and called on states and international institutions to reject and condemn this crime, and to open a criminal investigation into the war crime being committed by what is called the "Settlement Directorate" and the official entities of Israeli occupation.

The Foreign Ministry pointed out that these decisions constitute a de facto annexation of Palestinian land, which contradicts the vision of US President Trump and his rejection of annexation and settlement. It called on President Trump to intervene and pressure Israel to reverse these decisions that destabilize security, peace, and stability in the region.

Fattouh Condemns the Dangerous Racist Decisions of the Occupation Cabinet that Violate International Law

Ra'ee Fattouh, the head of the Palestinian National Council, condemned the racist and dangerous decisions approved by the cabinet of the occupation government, which constitute a blatant violation of international law and a deliberate demolition of the signed agreements, foremost among them the Hebron Agreement of 1997 signed between the Palestine Liberation Organization and Israel, and clearly reveal the intentions of Netanyahu's government to move forward with the plan to annex the occupied West Bank and impose new colonial realities on the ground ahead of upcoming elections.

The head of the council stated that these decisions represent an unprecedented escalation in the policy of colonial cleansing and a direct assault on the historical and legal rights of the Palestinian people, imposing facts to legitimize settlement and land theft through racist legislation that allows selling land to settlers and abolishing the legal restrictions that were in place, in a blatant violation of the principles of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions.

Fattouh confirmed that transferring planning and building powers in the city of Hebron, including the Ibrahimi Mosque, to what is called the civil administration subject to the occupation army and transforming colonial outposts into independent local authorities represents an intentional emptying of the Hebron Agreement of its content, and a dangerous step towards the actual annexation of Hebron, Bethlehem, and large parts of the West Bank.

He stressed that imposing oversight and demolition in areas A and B under the pretext of protecting heritage sites is a false legal cover for seizing Palestinian lands and displacing residents, holding the occupying government fully responsible for the repercussions of these policies.

He added that this extremist government disregards international legitimacy and its resolutions, completely denies United Nations resolutions and international law, and continues to take reckless unilateral steps that could ignite the entire region and lead it towards further tension and instability within a systematic policy based on imposing facts by force and demolishing any horizon for a just political solution.

Fattouh called on the international community to bear its legal and moral responsibilities and to take immediate action to stop these violations and hold the occupying state accountable for its ongoing crimes against the Palestinian people, their land, and their holy places.
