"Nazih" AI Assistant Developed by the Elections Committee to Answer Citizens' Questions about the 2026 Local Elections
SadaNews - Since receiving the Cabinet's decision to conduct local elections in December 2025, the Central Elections Commission has launched a campaign to raise awareness and educate the public about the new law, utilizing all technological tools to enhance electoral culture and reach the largest possible audience.
In this context, the committee has developed a digital assistant powered by artificial intelligence named "Nazih," based on the committee's principles of integrity, transparency, neutrality, and digital transformation. The assistant allows citizens to obtain accurate and quick answers to all inquiries related to the elections scheduled for April 25, 2026, and its law.
The assistant "Nazih" operates through the committee's website and via WhatsApp and Facebook, providing direct interaction with official information regarding various stages of the electoral process, including nomination procedures, the publication period and objections to the voter registry, voting participation and processes, seat counting and distribution, as well as women's quotas and seats allocated for Islamic and Christian communities, along with all aspects related to the new electoral law.
The committee confirmed that this development is part of its policies for digital transformation and investment in modern tools to ensure that information reaches the widest possible segment of the public, enabling citizens to follow the electoral process easily and transparently and to obtain accurate answers to their inquiries.
The committee clarified that access to the "Nazih" assistant is easily available through its social media pages or directly through its website, where citizens can ask any question and receive an immediate response. The assistant demonstrated its effectiveness during the trial period in January.
The committee added that its website recorded approximately one and a half million visits during January, while the assistant "Nazih" received about 22,000 inquiries that were answered directly, reflecting citizens' trust in digital tools and confirming the committee's commitment to transparency and professionalism in managing the electoral process.
