President Issues Presidential Decree to Set Dates for National Council Elections and the Eighth Conference of Fatah
SadaNews - President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas has issued a presidential decree calling on the Palestinian people in the homeland and diaspora to participate in the elections for the Palestinian National Council, scheduled for 1/11/2026.
The presidential decree specifies that elections will be held where possible inside and outside of Palestine, ensuring the widest possible participation from our Palestinian people in all places of their presence, to be conducted based on complete proportional representation, guaranteeing fair representation for all components of the Palestinian people, including women, youth, and Palestinian communities abroad, with the Central Elections Commission overseeing the entire electoral process.
His Excellency also issued a decision to set the date for the eighth general conference of the Palestinian National Liberation Movement "Fatah" in the city of Ramallah on 14/05/2026.
It is worth mentioning that the Cabinet had previously issued a decision to set the date for local authority elections in Palestine on 25/4/2026.
