Trump: Iran Wants to Reach an Agreement.. and Knows the "Deadline"

SadaNews - President Donald Trump stated on Friday that Iran wants to reach an agreement with the United States.

Trump explained in his remarks to reporters at the White House that Tehran "is the only one that knows the deadline" he has set for reaching an agreement.

He confirmed that his country is sending a significant number of ships to Iran in hopes of sealing a deal with them.

He stated, "A massive American fleet is heading towards Iran, and we will see what we do if we do not reach the deal." He noted that the American fleet heading to Iran is larger than the fleet that was sent to Venezuela.

Earlier, the American president expressed his hope that he would not have to take military action against Iran.

Trump added to the reporters at the "Kennedy Center" that he intends to hold discussions with Iran amidst escalating tensions between the two countries.

He continued by saying, "I have had talks with Iranian officials over the past few days, and I plan for more."

Trump concluded his statements by saying, "There are a large number of massive and powerful ships heading to Iran right now, and it would be better if we do not have to use them."

On Thursday, an American official reported that an additional U.S. Navy destroyer arrived in the Middle East as part of ongoing military reinforcements in the region amid rising tensions with Iran.

The official, speaking on the condition of anonymity to Reuters, stated that the destroyer "Delbert D. Black" entered the Middle Eastern region in the past 48 hours, bringing the total number of American destroyers deployed in the region to six, in addition to an aircraft carrier and three other combat ships.

The Israeli news site "Walla" reported on Friday, citing the Israeli military, that an American military destroyer docked at the port of Eilat.

In response, the spokesman for the Iranian military announced on Thursday that his country would respond immediately if attacked, reminding that many American bases in the region are within range of Iranian missiles.
