Major General Alam Al-Saqa and His Jordanian Counterpart Discuss Enhancing Cooperation to Develop Palestinian Police Capabilities

SadaNews - Major General Alam Al-Saqa, the Director General of Police, discussed with Major General Obaidullah Al-Maaitah, the Director of the Jordanian Public Security, aspects of joint cooperation between the two sides in the areas of developing the capabilities of the Palestinian police, during a meeting held in Tunisia on the sidelines of the 49th Conference of Arab Police Leaders, which will be held tomorrow, Wednesday.

Major General Al-Maaitah emphasized the strength of Jordanian-Palestinian relations and the spirit of brotherhood that ties the two countries together, affirming His Majesty King Abdullah II's interest in utilizing all resources to support the State of Palestine and its institutions, particularly the Palestinian police.

He also reiterated the readiness of the Jordanian Public Security to continue cooperation and provide all necessary expertise and facilities to the Palestinian police.

For his part, Major General Al-Saqa expressed his gratitude and appreciation to His Majesty King Abdullah II for his continuous support and to the Public Security Directorate, stressing the importance of joint projects between the two sides, especially in the field of specialized training. He noted the successful experience of the past years and what the Palestinian police has gained in high-level expertise through training programs in brotherly Jordan.

The two sides also discussed the development of a joint multi-level training plan, which includes foundational and advanced programs, to achieve greater benefit for Palestinian police officers.
The signing of the memorandum of understanding for the unified response center (911) was also addressed to benefit from the advanced Jordanian experience in this field.

Attending the meeting from the Palestinian police were Brigadier General Law Lyth Zidan, Assistant Director General of Police for the General Police Office, and Brigadier General Dr. Mahmoud Salah al-Din, Director of the Interpol Department.
