SadaNews - The Palestinian Red Crescent Society in the southern governorates welcomed today a high-level delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross, headed by Ms. Yasmin Desimouz, Operations Officer at the committee's headquarters in Geneva, and Mr. Julian, Director of the International Committee of the Red Cross Mission in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The delegation was received by Dr. Haidar Al-Qudra, Executive Director of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society in the southern governorates, alongside the directors of the central departments.
During the visit, the delegation inspected the Al-Saraya Field Hospital and Al-Quds Hospital, in addition to the central warehouses belonging to the Red Crescent, where they learned about the significant challenges facing healthcare facilities amid the difficult humanitarian conditions, the severe shortage of resources, equipment, and medical supplies, as well as electrical generators, and the ongoing increasing pressure on the services provided to the population.
The delegation of the committee praised the efforts of medical and ambulance teams, as this visit comes within the framework of enhancing ongoing cooperation between the two sides, and supporting the work of the Red Crescent in confronting the worsening health crisis in the Gaza Strip.
