Palestinian Bar Association: The Crimes of Settlers in the West Bank Are an Escalating Organized Criminal Act Under Government Cover
SadaNews - The Palestinian Bar Association stated in a press release issued this evening that the daily crimes committed by the settler mobs across Palestinian communities in the West Bank, under the patronage of the far-right government, are part of escalating organized criminal activity that amounts to war crimes, necessitating the international community to bear its responsibilities to curb this crime and its objectives, which are focused on uprooting the Palestinian people from their land.
The association stated that the right-wing government has unleashed settler mobs to commit all kinds of crimes against the Palestinian people and their land, whether it be acts of murder, violence, assaults, arson of homes, places of worship, and properties, or promoting and feeding the idea of pastoral settlement by allowing settlers to encircle and steal Palestinian lands as part of their strategic project to enhance settlement through various means and uproot Palestinians from their land.
The association condemned, in this context, the crime committed by extremist settlers yesterday in the town of Sinjil, Ramallah district, which led to injuries among several residents of the town, including colleague lawyer Rizq Masalmeh, who was shot with live bullets by the settlers.
The association emphasized that the heinousness of this organized crime by settlers, its daily escalation, and the occupation government's utilization of its capabilities to support this criminal behavior, which constitutes organized war crimes, requires international reference parties to assume their responsibilities and take deterrent measures to stop this crime and adopt legal accountability as a way to confront the perpetrators and deliver justice to the victims.
