Ramallah and Al-Bireh Forces: The Anniversary of Yasser Arafat's Passing is an Occasion for Unity and Continued Adherence to National Constants
SadaNews - The national and Islamic forces of Ramallah and Al-Bireh reaffirm the importance of comprehensive national consensus regarding the ongoing proposals and consultations about the arrangements for what is known as the American plan in the Gaza Strip. They must be vigilant against the deception and manipulation occurring within this framework, and communications on it should have a clear reference within the Palestinian Liberation Organization based on a specific national consensus. This includes the unity of Palestinian territories in the West Bank, including Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip, as one geographical and political entity, and in a manner that preserves the Palestinian stance in dealing with any ideas based on the supreme interest of the Palestinian people. They emphasize that the price of the blood that has been shed and continues to be shed due to the crimes of genocide should bring forth the dawn of freedom and independence. Additionally, the forces stress the importance of working under the umbrella of the United Nations and its institutions to secure the entry of food and relief aid amidst the threat of famine looming over the Gaza Strip due to the continued prevention of truck deliveries and aid reaching vulnerable displaced individuals without shelter due to the destruction of buildings, facilities, and shelters by the occupation.
On the occasion of the 21st anniversary of the martyrdom of the late President Yasser Arafat and the anniversary of the declaration of independence, the forces call for the highest forms of national cohesion and unity to confront the dangers facing the unity of national ranks based on adherence to the national constants that the late leader upheld and defended. They call to commemorate the anniversary by participating in the event organized in front of the Al-Bireh Cultural Center next Tuesday at eleven o'clock in the morning and in many governorates in defense of the national rights that Abu Ammar carried until his last breath, which include the right of return, self-determination, and national independence in a fully sovereign state with Jerusalem as its capital, away from vague formulas and negotiations imposed by the American administration that aim to bypass the rights of our people and adopt the positions of the occupying government to liquidate the entire national cause.
The forces assert that the escalating attacks by settlers are organized state terrorism and not isolated incidents, as they are fueled by a hateful ideology that provides them with all elements of hatred aiming to ethnically cleanse the land from its rightful owners. The recent attacks in villages and towns against farmers in olive fields are precursors to more violent and widespread assaults backed and funded by the occupation army, as part of a shared effort to end the Palestinian presence. This requires the highest levels of vigilance, field unity, and government decisions and actions from relevant parties to establish a comprehensive national resilience plan and block attempts to implement these aggressive schemes and activate popular protection committees in all Palestinian governorates.
The forces warn of the escalation of daily assaults against female and male prisoners and the ongoing campaign of abuse against them led and supervised by Ben Gvir and the administration of his prisons, in a blatant violation of the simplest international norms and agreements. They call for an international institutional and human rights movement to protect the prisoners and send international investigation committees following reports indicating crimes committed in the Sidy Taiman detention center and other prisons that claimed the lives of dozens of prisoners, as well as the executions carried out in cold blood. They demand to expand local, international, and legal activism to criminalize these practices and work to halt them immediately.
