Al-Shara Visits Washington in Days to Meet Trump
SadaNews - U.S. Special Envoy to Syria, Tom Barak, said on Saturday that Syrian President Ahmad Al-Shara will head to Washington this November.
Barak noted that the visit will be to sign an agreement to join the U.S.-led international coalition against ISIS.
In response to a question from reporters on the sidelines of the "Manama Dialogue" in Bahrain about whether Al-Shara would visit Washington this month, Barak said "yes," adding that he will likely sign the agreement to join the anti-ISIS coalition.
Hebrew media reported that Al-Shara will meet Trump this month just days before Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman visits the White House.
Israeli sources expressed hope that Trump would convince Al-Shara and Bin Salman to adopt the "peace" vision with Israel after the end of the war on Gaza.
Al-Shara participated in the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, which was held from September 22 to 30, making the November visit the second for Al-Shara to the United States within about two months.
