First in Palestine and second outside the USA: Al-Quds University obtains full international accreditation (NAACLS) in medical laboratory sciences
SadaNews: Al-Quds University has received full academic accreditation from the National Accreditation Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) for a period of five years, which allows graduates in medical laboratory sciences to present for the American board and work in the United States and around the world.
Al-Quds University is the first Palestinian university and the second university internationally outside the United States to obtain this prestigious accreditation, which is based on specific standards related to the quality of academic programs and alignment with the best global practices in medical education.
This came after a series of intensive and comprehensive field visits to all components of the academic and training program, as well as a thorough evaluation of the educational environment, academic facilities, infrastructure, and institutional policies of Al-Quds University.
The university's Vice President for Health and Medical Affairs, Prof. Rania Abu Sir, stated, "This step represents the culmination of Al-Quds University’s strategic vision to enhance the quality of medical education and develop its academic programs to meet the changing needs of the labor market and the best global practices, thereby contributing to raising the level of healthcare and developing the profession of medical laboratory sciences in Palestine and the region."
The Dean of the College of Health Professions, Prof. Abu Sir, confirmed that this accreditation holds exceptional importance, as it officially documents that the curriculum, teaching staff, laboratories, and equipment in the medical laboratory sciences program have exceeded the stringent standards set in the United States, making the program a comprehensive educational environment that produces medical professionals capable of competing, innovating, and contributing effectively to the development of the healthcare sector.
She added, "This international accreditation represents a historic milestone in the academic excellence journey led by Al-Quds University, as it signifies a high-level international recognition of the quality and distinction of its academic programs, specifically in the medical laboratory sciences specialization at the College of Health Professions, which is now equipped to prepare laboratory medical staff according to the latest international standards."
