Prime Minister Approves Resignation of Minister of Transportation and Communications
SadaNews - The Government Communication Center reported that the Palestinian Prime Minister has accepted the resignation of the Minister of Transportation and Communications.
The center stated in a brief statement: "Minister of Transportation and Communications Tareq Zaarab submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa, who in turn approved the resignation effective immediately."
Earlier, the Palestinian government announced the suspension of Minister of Transportation and Communications Tareq Zaarab from work, following investigations being conducted by the Palestinian Public Prosecution regarding allegations of financial corruption and embezzlement.
At that time, SadaNews reported from informed sources that ministerial immunity had been lifted from Zaarab, allowing the relevant legal authorities to start an investigation with him, in a precedent that is the first of its kind for an official at this level while still holding his position.
