Palestinian Ambassador at the First Demonstration in Budapest: Palestine is Not Just the Cause of the Palestinian People, but the Cause of Every Free Human Being
SadaNews - In the first demonstration in Budapest since the start of the genocide, and since the Hungarian authorities banned any pro-Palestine protests for nearly two years, the Palestinian Ambassador to Hungary, Dr. Fadi Al-Husseini, participated alongside the Palestinian embassy staff in a mass demonstration rejecting the genocide and the Israeli occupation.
The Hungarian Peace Circle called for this demonstration, and unexpectedly, there was no objection from the Hungarian police to organizing the event. A large number of Hungarian citizens, international solidarity activists, and members of the Palestinian and Arab community, as well as students, participated in the demonstration.
In emphasizing the importance of continued unity in popular and diplomatic action, Ambassador Al-Husseini delivered a speech before the crowds, calling for support for the just cause of Palestine and standing by the rights of the Palestinian people to freedom and independence, noting the great pain caused by the genocide, and reminding that this began more than seven decades ago with occupation and apartheid. He praised the participants, saying: You are the voice of truth and the voice of conscience in this dark era.
It is noteworthy that the Hungarian Peace Circle was one of the first civil society organizations in Hungary that hosted Ambassador Al-Husseini after the events of October in a special seminar in November 2023, with the participation of the Arab community.
