Occupation Closes Atara Gate and Erects Military Checkpoint Near Nabi Saleh North of Ramallah
SadaNews - Israeli occupation forces closed the iron gate they erected at the entrance of Atara village north of Ramallah this Sunday morning.
Our reporter stated that the occupation forces closed the Atara military gate to citizens, forcing them to take long detours and dirt roads to reach their work, schools, and universities.
The Israeli occupation forces also set up a military checkpoint near the "Halamish" settlement that sits on the lands of citizens in Nabi Saleh north of Ramallah, stopping several vehicles, searching them, and checking the identities of their occupants, which hindered the movement of citizens.
The Nabi Saleh entrance serves the villages of Bani Zeid al-Gharbiya (Beit Rima, Deir Ghassana, Kafr Ein, and Qarawah), as well as the city of Salfit and some of its villages.
According to a report issued by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission last September, the total number of military checkpoints and iron gates established by the occupation army in the West Bank has reached 910, including 83 gates since the beginning of 2025, noting that 247 iron gates were erected after October 7, 2023.
